This is going to be so controversial so I am going to keep it simple.
Back in August of 2020 (so several months after the outbreak), I received a phone call from someone I know and trust at FDA. I can’t get into the details for the call but the key facts were
- They already found 30+ variations of Covid-19 as of August 2020.
- Yes, others have reported that we have 8 notable variants. And yes, they are “notable” variants.
- The speed of mutation is so fast that there was an internal discussion about effectiveness of vaccines.
- The conclusion: they won’t be a vaccine to eradicate Covid-19 as it behaves more like an influenza.
So what was the key takeaway I got from this conversation?
- We will see waves of new variants…possibly forever.
- Take profits when the market forgets about Covid-19
- Buy whenever we see a dip due to an introduction of new variant
- Sell when the market gets complacent again
What has worked for me? Trading $SPY and $QQQ and buying stay-at-home stocks like $DAL $ABNB and $EXPE and once I make enough money, sell them and hold on to some cash and do the same thing over and over again. Also, buying put options of $ZM and $DOCU worked as well when they fear starts to subside.
How long will this continue? I really don’t know. Dems and liberal media made this influenza-like virus into a pandemic to kick Trump out of the office and they can’t undo the damage in order to bring everything back to normal. So as long as it takes for people to realize that it’s just an influenza and they need to live a normal life.
